Clonmellon Men's Shed is a community based project, where men can come together to learn, share skills and make long-lasting friendships together.
The men’s shed movement was first founded in Australia in the 1980’s, and have since expanded to other countries including Ireland, the UK, America, Canada, Iceland and Estonia to name a few.
All sheds are independent and self-autonomous, and the range of activities carried out by sheds differ from the next. Most sheds engage in activities such as woodwork, gardening, carpentry and community work. However, there are more special interests sheds that focus on things like music, fishing and restoration work.
The key to our popularity is best expressed in our motto:
Men don’t talk face to face, we talk SHOULDER TO SHOULDER
Here is the latest information from the shed covering interesting topics and events taking place.
To help cover some of our expenses, we will have a number of items for sale which can be purchased via our online shop or you can visit us in person to purchase/collect.
If you would like something made or fixed, please contact us and we will let you know if we can help you.
To help shed members and people to keep up to date with what we do, we have developed a smart phone app which will allow anyone with the app to check our Facebook page, view any new videos, send us a message or listen to Clonmellon Community Radio.
Unfortunately we do not have an IPhone version of the app as Apple require all developers to pay around €100 Euros for the privilage, so we decided that we would prefer to use that money for the shed instead.
Sorry IPhone users, but that's Apple for you!
Click on the link above to download the app zip file on to your phone. Unzip the file on your phone and then run the APK file.
Make sure that your phone allows third party apps otherwise it will ask you when you try to install the app. Select "yes" to accept.
